PhD positions

I am looking for talented PhD students who are willing to contribute to cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence (AI) in medical image analysis in the School of Computer Science, the University of Birmingham.

Project description

This PhD project is situated at the convergence of AI and medical image analysis. The successful candidate will actively engage in cross-disciplinary collaborations with a broad network of experts. The primary objective of the project is to explore innovative AI/ML techniques to tackle significant challenges in medical imaging.

Eligibility

• A Distinction Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong programming experience in Python, and experience of using PyTorch libraries.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic for doing research.
• Interested in AI, ML, computer vision, biomedical image analysis, and healthcare.
• Research experience on AI in healthcare is highly desirable.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Outstanding and proficiency in spoken and written English.
